This breed appeared in the 16th century as a cross of the Tibetan Lhasa Apso and the Pekingese. These beautiful little creatures were valued in the Imperial Chinese Court and were not sold to the west until 1930. Shih tzu dog pictures will usually be on a photo page that features small dogs.
